Look at the Book and Study Jesus.
1) GOD'S ASEITY
-
God is self-existent.
-
God speaks to Moses through burning bush.
-
“I Am that I Am”- I Am sent you.
-
I Am means He Is- Everything else is becoming.
-
God spoke time into being- He exists outside of time.
2) GOD'S ABSOLUTE SOVEREIGNTY
-
Supreme authority.
-
“Beside me, there is no other God”.
-
God can not lie. There is no other God but Him.
3) HIS PROVIDENCE
-
Knowledge, Understanding, Wisdom, Righteousness will be found in the Bible.
-
The Bible is God’s Revelation of Himself to us.
-
He works all things together for His pleasure.
-
We were created for His pleasure.
-
Two kinds of fear of the Lord. One causes man to run from God, the other causes man to run to God.
4) HYPOSTATIC UNION
-
A merging of the nature of God and man into one person- Jesus Christ.
-
This occurred at His conception in the womb of Mary.
-
He describes Himself more as The Son of Man, but still the Son of God.
5) THEOLOGY/CHRISTOLOGY
-
Theology is the study of God Himself.
-
Many who study theology, but don’t study God, often become religious humanists.
-
Humanists don’t believe in a prayer answering God.
-
Humanism began in Eden when Eve ate the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.
-
Eve was deceived, but Adam knew what he was doing.
6) CHRISTIAN HEDONISM
-
Hedonism is finding pleasure in your own pursuits.
-
Christian Hedonism is finding pleasure in Christ alone.
-
God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied with Him.
-
Westminster Catechism: What is the chief end of man? The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
-
When Christ is your deepest pleasure, you will display Him as your highest treasure.
7) LOOK AT THE BOOK AND STUDY JESUS
-
You will realize that as you are studying Christ, you are studying God Almighty.
-
He said, “I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life…”
